2. Occupational Health and Safety Policy

INTRODUCTION

Aluminij Industries d.o.o. (hereinafter „Aluminij“ or “we”/„us“/„our“) is dedicated to the continuous improvement of working conditions for its employees, visitors, contractors, and any other persons present in the company’s work environment. We are committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, in accordance with the nature and level of occupational risks inherent in the aluminum industry. This commitment is realized through a proactive, measurable, and constructive occupational health and safety Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management System.

Aluminij complies with all applicable occupational health and safety legislation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the Law on Occupational Safety and Health, and is aligned with relevant international standards, such as ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems as well as established industry best practices.

 

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Policy is to ensure a safe workplace, safe work equipment, and a qualified and informed workforce, all in accordance with legal requirements and international best practices. Our goal is to prevent workplace injuries and harm to worker health.

 

SCOPE

This Policy applies to:

  • All employees of Aluminij,
  • All contractors, suppliers, and third-party service providers,
  • All visitors present on company premises.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the OHS management system. Managers and supervisors are accountable for safety performance within their departments and for ensuring employee compliance.

All employees are required to follow safety procedures, report hazards, and contribute to a safe and healthy working environment.

Contractors and visitors must comply with Aluminij's safety protocols and omplete mandatory induction and training before entering operational areas.

 

KEY OBJECTIVES

Aluminij commits to the following OHS objectives:

  • Conducting comprehensive risk assessments across all workplaces and environments, followed by implementation of risk-reducing measures.
  • Performing preventive workplace inspections and addressing identified hazards through corrective actions.
  • Ensuring all workers receive regular training and education in safe working methods.
  • Informing external workers and contractors of the specific risks present in their work areas.
  • Providing clear and up-to-date internal policies, procedures, safety instructions, signage, and communication materials.
  • Supplying appropriate and well-maintained work equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Substituting hazardous substances with safer alternatives wherever technically and economically feasible.
  • Encouraging active participation and reporting from workers, representatives, and management through open communication channels and regular health and safety meetings.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement and modernization of production processes to reduce risk exposure.

 

The occupational health and safety management system is an integral part of Aluminju's business operations. OHS performance is monitored through:

  • Internal audits,
  • Incident and near-miss reporting,
  • Safety performance reviews,
  • Periodic management evaluations.

 

These processes ensure that our system remains effective and responsive to change

 

POLICY REVIEW

This policy is periodically reviewed and updated as necessary to reflect changes in legal requirements and best practices.
