CERTIFICATIONS

ISO CERTIFIED
ISO 9001
ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for quality management systems, specifying requirements that enable organisations to consistently deliver products and services meeting customer and regulatory expectations. Aluminij Industries was first certified to ISO 9001 in 2020 and has maintained the certification continuously since then, with the latest recertification in 2025, reflecting continuous improvement across all segments of its operations.
ISO 14001
ISO 14001 sets the international standard for environmental management systems, helping organisations improve environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste. Aluminij Industries was certified to ISO 14001 in 2020 and recertified in 2025, underpinning its commitment to full regulatory compliance and sustainable production practices.
ISO 45001
ISO 45001 is the international standard for occupational health and safety management, providing a framework for organisations to eliminate workplace hazards and protect the health of their workforce. Aluminij Industries was certified to ISO 45001 in 2023 and recertified in 2025. All ISO certifications are independently accredited by Bureau Veritas.
EUR. 1 CERTIFIED
The EUR.1 movement certificate is a proof-of-origin document used in international trade, enabling goods to benefit from preferential customs arrangements under trade agreements between the European Union and partner countries. Aluminij's products are accompanied by EUR.1 certification, allowing customers in EU, CEFTA, and EFTA member countries to benefit from customs duty exemptions on imported aluminium products. This is a direct commercial advantage for Aluminij's European customer base, reducing the total landed cost of Aluminij's products relative to suppliers without equivalent origin status.
ASI CERTIFIED
Aluminij Industries d.o.o. has achieved ASI Performance Standard Certification for the production of foundry aluminium alloys in the form of billets, blocks, and small ingots at its Cast House in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina - the first company in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region to do so.
“Aluminij emphasizes the interdependent environmental, social and economic aspects of sustainable development by putting sustainability at the core of its operation. Our ability to be a force for change relies on the divergent perspectives of diligent and committed employees from diverse backgrounds. Striving for excellence and integrity, Aluminij will retain its focus on sustainability, while successfully minimizing CO2 emissions in its operation. With the immense expertise of our team, Aluminij continues its ongoing objective to shape the industry toward a greener future.” – Mr. Amir Gross Kabiri, Chairman of M.T. Abraham Group
The independent, third-party audit was carried out by Bureau Veritas. Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative, congratulated Aluminij Industries on achieving the first Performance Standard Certification in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
ASI works toward responsible production, sourcing, and stewardship of aluminium through an entire value chain approach, bringing together producers, users, and stakeholders with a commitment to maximise aluminium's contribution to a sustainable society. The ASI Certification programme was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain.
CO2 FOOTPRINT
The aluminium industry occupies a central role in the global transition to sustainable production, given aluminium's exceptional recyclability and its potential to contribute to a lower-carbon economy. Quantifying greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions — from owned sources as well as upstream and downstream supply chains — is an essential step on the path to carbon neutrality.
Aluminij Industries has engaged Bureau Veritas to independently verify its carbon footprint in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol guidelines, confirming compliance with ISO 14064-3 and ISO 14065. Aluminij is among the first companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans to complete this process. The verified Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions for 2024 stand at 0.336 tCO₂e per tonne of aluminium produced.
Electricity Guarantee of Origin
Aluminij holds a Guarantee of Origin (GO) for its electricity supply, issued by OIEiEK Operator, confirming that each megawatt hour of electricity consumed comes from a verified renewable source. Aluminij played a key role in encouraging electricity suppliers in Bosnia and Herzegovina to adopt green certificates, contributing to broader renewable energy accountability across the country. The Guarantee of Origin is the recognised European instrument for verifying the renewable source of electricity and is used by Aluminij to support its sustainability reporting and compliance.
Occupational Health and Safety Policy
Aluminij Industries d.o.o. is committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety for all employees, contractors, and visitors. The company operates a proactive occupational health and safety management system to ensure a secure and healthy workplace in accordance with legal requirements and industry best practices, with a focus on preventing workplace injuries and protecting the wellbeing of everyone on site.
The Occupational Health and Safety Management System is embedded across all of Aluminij Industries' operations, with every employee playing a role in its implementation and continuous improvement.
