5. Environmental Protection Policy

INTRODUCTION

Aluminij Industries (hereinafter referred to as "Aluminij" or “we”/„us“/„our“) recognizes environmental protection as a fundamental aspect of sustainable development and corporate responsibility. From the very beginning of Aluminij’s production technology, there has been a dedicated program to reduce the harmful impact on the environment, with special emphasis on protecting soil, water, and air, especially considering our proximity to settlements and rivers.

This commitment applies across all of our operations — in Bosnia and Herzegovina and internationally — and supports our broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.

By implementing an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001:2015, Aluminij is fully committed to:

• Preventing pollution;
• Continuously monitoring and assessing environmental impacts;
• Improving environmental performance across production, product use, and service delivery.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENTS

Our environmental policy includes:

• Regular identification and evaluation of environmental aspects and their significant impacts;
• Implementation of appropriate measures to reduce environmental pollution both within Aluminij and in the environments where our products are used;
• Full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and other obligations related to environmental protection in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as international standards;
• We also expect our suppliers, contractors, and business partners to comply with environmental standards and to actively support our environmental objectives.

ENVIRONMENTAL OBJECTIVES

To achieve these objectives, Aluminij commits to:

• Minimizing waste generation at the source by optimizing processes and using resources responsibly;
• Selecting raw materials, components, and developing products that are less harmful to the environment;
• Introducing technologies that reduce environmental impacts and lower the consumption of raw materials, energy, and natural resources;
• Maintaining all environmentally significant equipment in proper working condition;
• Optimizing the use of energy, raw materials, and resources through reuse and/or recycling of technological waste or used products;
• Raising environmental awareness and providing continuous training for employees on environmental protection practices;
• Ensure 100% of employees receive annual environmental training.

LEGAL COMPLIANCE AND RISK REDUCTION

Aluminij is fully committed to complying with all environmental laws and regulations applicable in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including:

• Air, water, and soil protection;
• Waste management;
• Environmental impact assessment (EIA);
• Handling of hazardous substances and emissions.

Where applicable, Aluminij also aligns its environmental practices with relevant EU environmental directives and international agreements.

This approach ensures that our operations are legally compliant, environmentally responsible, and aligned with principles of sustainable development.
