As a company with a high environmental awareness, we have recognized the CBAM Regulation as another challenge in reducing emissions. The EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is a tool to put a fair price on the carbon emitted during the production of carbon-intensive goods that are entering the EU. Aluminium industry sector goods are covered by CBAM Regulation.
Aluminij has taken significant steps in applying our professional know-how to support our customers in reporting embeded emissions at EU borders. We are following all relevant methodologies provided by the European Commission in REGULATION (EU) 2023/956. THE ULTIMATE products are CBAM READY to be imported via EU borders.
Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) is a non-profit organization that brings together producers, users and stakeholders in the aluminium value chain committed to maximizing the contribution of aluminium to a sustainable society. The organization’s aim is to collaboratively foster responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium.
Since 2020, Aluminij is a member of the ASI organization. By implementing all available measures in the production process, from innovative solutions through repurposing, reusing, and recycling, Aluminij has become the first ASI-certified organization in the region.
“Aluminij emphasizes the interdependent environmental, social and economic aspects of sustainable development by putting sustainability at the core of its operation. On the occasion of International Women's Day, the conference "Women in business" was held for the second time at Aluminij Industries in Mostar, and was jointly organized by M.T. Abraham Group and Večernji list BiH.
Key Speakers at the Conference were:
- Ljiljana Lovrić, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH
- Snežana Ružičić, mayor of Jezero municipality
- Majda Behrem Stojanov, director of Pro-Budućnost, member of the International Organization CRS
- Sanja Bjelica, president of SPKD "Preporod" Mostar

Those present were greeted by Amir Gross Kabiri, Chairman of M.T. Abraham Group, and Jozo Pavković, Director and Editor-in-Chief of Večernji list BiH. They sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of International Women's Day and pointed out the importance of such conferences, where they advocate for the strongest inclusion of women in the political, cultural and social life of our community.
Successful women from the world of politics, entrepreneurship, humanitarian work and non-governmental organizations took part in the conference again this year.
"One of the key concepts to discuss is the concept of power. When balancing business and family, this concept of power always comes to the surface. And usually, in most institutions and companies, it is understood that the person who has power manages processes and manages people in a certain part or entirely, and it is understood in society that power is always held by men", said Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Ljiljana Lovrić. She noted that, according to the World Bank's research from last year, women achieve only 77 percent of the rights provided by law, while men achieve 100 percent.
The mayor of Jezero municipality Snežana Ružičić stressed the importance of their voice to the young women.
In the end, it was concluded that, despite greater employability and the growth of the number of women in leadership positions, they are still underrepresented in politics, economy, culture and other areas, especially at the highest levels, which indicates that there are still significant legal, structural and cultural obstacles for their full equality.
The participants expressed the hope that such conferences, with the voice of women and valuable messages and advice, will leave a mark and be a guide for the future.
